Our new violin has arrived in Oslo, ready to embark on an exciting international journey. It is called “Il Cannone” and was crafted in Genoa by master luthier Alberto Giordano, following in the footsteps of Italy’s great artisan tradition.
Inspired by the famous violin of Niccolò Paganini, of which it is a faithful copy, “Il Cannone” was created to pay homage to one of the most iconic instruments in the history of music. Power, depth, and brilliance of sound are the qualities that made the original unique, and they live on today in this extraordinary contemporary creation.
The violin will reside at the Norwegian Music College in Oslo, where it will be the protagonist of new artistic and educational experiences, becoming part of an international context of the highest calibre.
The new “Cannone” was brought to voice by violinist Christopher Tun Andersen, who gave full expression to its tonal qualities and expressive intensity, offering the audience a deeply moving moment.
