An important donation for the Conservatoir Niccolò Paganini in Genoa
Corrado Gritti and his nephew Enrica Fieschi, heirs of Cesare Candi, have donated to the Conservatoir Niccolò Paganini in Genova their collection of decorated instruments.
The small group of instruments (a guitar, a mandolin and a viola d'amore) was built by Candi from 1926 to 1933 and it well represents the sophisticated ecletism of this maker's mature period.
The donation, as a result of the generosity of the family and of the enthusiasm of prof.Patrizia Conti director of the Conservatoir, represents an important step toward the creation of a public collection of musical instruments for the City of Genova.
