The New Oslo Opera Ballet Theatre - The Kylian Project
The Norwegian Opera Ballet will have soon a new home: a brand new Opera House is under contruction in the bay of Oslo. 'The building shall stand as a representative institution presenting both Norway's cultural traditions and the Norwegian National Opera's significance in the Nation's culture and society' states the Parliamentary bill number 48 (2001-02).
The modern and fine architecture with the highest technologies devices will set the new theatre as one of the best ones in the world. Jiri Kylian, one of the world pre-eminent coreographers, is taking care of the special events that will open the theatre. Beside the main ballet show, the opening evening (may 2008) will feature special scenes to be located in the understage area, where the public will be toured through: a small group of funny musical instruments will be part of those scenes.
Alberto is encharged to make these new fancy instruments: "that will be a very particoular experience in my career, I'm thrilled about this project: once in my life I will have the opportunity to draw something totally new that will be part of an art performance.
We, violinmakers are always concentrated on the respect for the rules of the ancient masters: this will be the time for breaking the rules and for a freewheeling creativity".
The performance will be coreographed by Karine Guizzo; the norwegian composer Trond Reinholdtsen will write special music for the event.
The Kylian project will be directed by the administrator Paul Podolsky, who has created a particoular close-knit working team.
