Third national violinmaking competition of Pisogne
The Pisogne violinmaking competition, organized by ANLAI association, featured about 70 instruments.
Contesters coming from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, Argentina, Bulgaria, France, Spain and Italy; the exhibition took place in Santa Maria della Neve, a charming XVI century church decorated around 1530 by Girolamo Romanino, painter from Brescia.
The competition featured three different categories: independents (amateurs and young makers not yet registred to the chamber of commerce), students and professional violinmakers.
The general ratio was considerably good, the instruments in the medal area of high quality; jury was composed by 4 violinmakers (Carlo Vettori chairman, Primo Pistoni, Daniele Scolari, Alberto Giordano) and two musician (Marco Fornaciari violinist, Ivan Merlini cellist).
Instruments passed through three different acoustic 'blind' trials, two of them just for the jury and one opened to the public who was invited to vote.

Violins - 1st Debora Scanamè (Italy), 2nd Shaotaro Nishimura (Japan) and Paolo Farias (Argentina) ex aequo, 3rd Yota Shimizu (Japan)
PROFESSIONALS:
Violins - 1st Akira Takahashi (Japan), 2nd Marcello Villa (Italy), 3rd Milcev Palmen (Bulgaria)
Violas - 1st Lu Xiang (China), 2nd Fernando Migani (Italia), 3rd Shin Dong Jin (China)
